Christmas party hat

The hats are a fun feature that have periodically been available on the talkhaus from time to time for a number of years. Hats are transparent images of hats that show up above a user's avatar. The hat is unclickable and fades out when the user hovers over it, so that it doesn't block the user from interacting with site features.

The site currently sports christmas party hats that were never disabled last time they were enabled.

Types of hats

Christmas hats

Christmas party hats are a tradition from the United Kingdom, in which two people pull one side each of a christmas cracker, which then cracks like a party popper as one person is left with the bigger half that includes the middle. The middle part typically contains a party hat, a small toy, and a bad joke on a piece of paper.

The party hats were originally introduced one christmas, and show up again every christmas time. After they were most recently enabled, they haven't been disabled again so they're still visible next to every post.
