The talkhaus IRC was a place where talkhaus users could get together and chat separate from the forum itself. #talkhaus was originally created on the 21st of June 2009 by crishy, shortly after the conception of talkhaus, and went through various phases before being phased out on the 21st February 2015, at which time remaining IRC users got sick of people complaining that #talkhaus was nothing to do with the talkhaus anymore and moved to #rena instead.

History

crishy's original #talkhaus IRC was originally created on irc.freenode.net, but was shortly after moved to irc.badnik.net because it was deemed a 'more *ahem* normal server'.

This iteration of the IRC was created on the 21st of June 2009 and crishy stuck around and moderated it until around November 2009, at which point he went missing for long enough for his nickname to deregister.

On the 30th of November 2009, following chrishy's disappearance, Argumentable, FirePhoenix, and GenericDude1 took over the channel. A few weeks later, FirePhoenix asked to be deopped causing Argumentable to clear the access list and start invoking more and more of his powers. The channel became +c and the tpoic became unchangeable, even for OPs. Many words were banned, including: Zelda, Bump (probably because Rena kept saying it) and Deku. Argumentable enlisted the help of the Raocow bot to kick or ban people with its mighty flood protection abilities. Argumentable, with his iron fists, still reigned until the 22nd of December 2010, when the chat moved over to Rena's irc network (at the time name irc.renaporn.com, and afterwards the more sensible irc.rena.so). Argumentable no longer wanted to be op so Rena took over, but to be honest it was still mostly chaos afterwards.

After that there was a new era of irc that lasted from December 2010 until the 21st February 2015, becoming less related to the talkhaus, when the channel's users moved on to a new channel.
