Sturg

Way to take a pun-based level name and rrroll with it! At first I wasn't sure if this entry was actually going to have any obstacles, but that vertical vine section you had was alright, although a little out of nowhere. Overall, this felt like someone dipping their toes in making a level for the first time, which I appreciate.

Zatsupachi

Except for that one part with the double-sawblade providing the heftiest challenge there was literally nothing in this level. The motherbrain fight was dull and uninteresting, the entire level just feels empty.

Rameau's Nephew

A bit of unabashed silliness, which is OK on occasion. I do kind of like the tangled vine tower, particularly where it's overtaken the old ghost house; the idea that these shadowy relics of the past took refuge in this physical relic of the past, only to fade away and be forgotten as their last material link to the world is swallowed up by the unstoppable encroachment of new, pulsing life is quite sad and poignant. I think it might have been a good idea to just outright let the player cheese the Mother Brain fight, though; as it stands, it's possible for Ponty to get stuck in the NPC-only blocks, forcing the player to commit suicide. The story also just kind of ends; this feels like the sort of level that needs a proper punchline (beyond the epilogue) before the player collects the star.

+ Unapologetic silliness
- Unapologetic silliness

Other: All things considered, I feel like this is fundamentally a Toad level in spirit.

Author's notes

The only allowed chartacters should be the ones discussed in the rules thread:
Mario
Luigi
Peach
Toad
Link
Wario
Klonoa
Uncle Broadsword

I have tested that the level is doable with all eight.

Other than that, go wild.
